New Gorgeous VENENO ROADSTER Didn’t Sell at Auction

Back in 2013 Automobili Lamborghini SpA was celebrating her 50th anniversary, and several special cars were built to commemorate this event, like the Aventador LP7204 in either Coupe or Roadster form, but also the extremely rare Lamborghini Veneno based on the Aventador chassis but completely redesigned into a LeMans lookalike racer, but still street legal worldwide.

At an MSRP (Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price) of €3,000,000 (Rs.24.4 Cr) before taxes, you might think they had trouble selling the Veneno, but with only three made available to the public, they were all sold out before they even saw the car at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show which probably made the Lamborghini marketing department eager to try this again. So in October 2013, they published a press release on the Lamborghini Veneno Roadster, taking the impressive design of the Veneno Coupe into a real Roadster, they didn’t even bother to design a roof for the Veneno Roadster.

As all three of the Veneno Coupe sold out so quickly, so Lamborghini decided to build nine Roadster for customers, at a 10% premium over the closed version, so at €3,300,000 each (about USD 4,500,000 back in 2013) could get hold of an open-top super car with race car styling, and this time the customer could decide on the exterior shade and livery on the Coupe, they had to go for a metallic grey called ‘Metalluro’ and settle for subtle touches of either green, white or red.

The Lamborghini Veneno Roadster was introduced on the deck of an aircraft carrier in Dubai, finished in a stunning dark red metallic shade that looked close to the one seen on the Aventador J in 2012, but as mentioned earlier, customers could order their Veneno Roadster in any shade they liked, so they got to see glossy black, green, white. one customer even ordered a full carbon fiber body with a satin finish (absolutely stunning) and a Nero Nemesis as seen on this specific Veneno Roadster that went to auction in Paris in February 2020.
